How does buying on KidsGrow work?

We specialize in gently-used baby gear, kids clothes, furniture, and toys. Shop as you would on any of your other favorite websites by categories, filtering items by pick-up location, brand, price, etc. Make sure to read carefully the condition of the item as well as the pick-up location or shipping options. As soon as you placed your order, your credit card will be processed but we won’t capture the charge just yet. We will also notify the seller who then has 48hrs to confirm the sale. Your credit card will be charged as soon the seller confirmed the sale. If you choose local pick-up, you will then be put in touch with the seller to arrange of the convenient day and time to pick up your item. If your item is being shipped the seller will ship the item(s) according to the method requested.
Why should I buy on KidsGrow?

KidsGrow is a safe and secure way to buy gently used / new items kids need. Buying on KidsGrow you are buying from another family just like yourself and you are supporting small business. You are helping to to save the earth by not contributing to the approximately 21 billion pounds of textile waste sent to landfills in the US every year.
How can I pay for my purchase?
What shipping methods do you offer?

KidsGrow Marketplace primarily prefers local transactions to limit our carbon footprint. Most items are available for local pick up by the buyer, except if noted otherwise. So please be sure to carefully review to pick up location of your item. We also offer shipping for those special items that are too far away for local pick-up.
What are the definitions of the item conditions?
We have it all laid out for you. You can choose from the following item conditions:
- New With Tags (NWT) – Self Explanatory
- New Without Tags (NWOT) – Item tags from the original retailer have been removed but the item has never been used/worn/altered or washed and is free of defects. Includes handmade items.
- Excellent/Mint Condition (EM) – The item may have been lightly used/worn and does not have any signs of wear or defects which includes pilling, etc., or other defects. Like-new.
- Very Good Condition (VG) – The item has been used/worn and has the following defects which must be disclosed in the item description: LIGHT wash wear (color fading and/or pilling) in clothing/textiles, minor scuffs from light wear on soles of shoes. Writing of any kind on both clothing/textiles and shoes.
- Good Condition (G) – The item has been used/worn and has the slight defects which must be disclosed in the item description: MODERATE wash wear (color fading and/or pilling), minor stains (not visible to the naked eye), missing closures (buttons, snaps, etc) that are not essential to functionality, scuffs throughout and visible heel wear on soles of shoes. Writing of any kind on both clothing/textiles and shoes.

Returns

What if I don’t want something I just bought?

KidsGrow is a marketplace. The sellers are their own business. Sellers are responsible for the items they sell. Returns are based on
-The buyer did not receive the item
-The item is damaged when the buyer receives it
-The item is incorrect or missing
-The item the buyer receives is not as described.
If the item isn’t shipped within 5 days of payment, the buyer’s payment is automatically cancelled and returned to the account they used to buy the item.

For local pick ups if item is not as described refuse pick up at that point
All refunds will be given by the seller.

KidsGrow hold its sellers to the highest standard. We built a community that will not sell anything they wouldn’t want for their own child. If a seller has too many returns they will be taken off the platform.

What is not covered
– An item doesn’t fit or the buyer doesn’t like it

Our team is made of super-picky parents who review all listings against our tough quality chart before accepting or refusing an item submission. What happens when one of my items sells?

You will receive a notification via email to confirm the sale as soon as one of your items sells. You then will have 48 hours to mark your sale as confirmed (Go to My Account/My Sales/Pending Sales, and click on ‘CONFIRMED’ next to the corresponding pending sale).

If local pickup is chosen, you will then be connected to the buyer to arrange a convenient day/time for pick up. If shipping is the chosen method of delivery, you will be notified of the method chosen.

If you do not confirm your sale within 72 hours, your sale will automatically cancel.
How do I collect my earnings after my item sold?

Don’t wait! Make sure to confirm pick up or shipping of the item in your account as soon as it is completed. We allow for 48hrs after you confirmed the pick up for the buyer to review the item and return it if there is any issue (if the item is not as described for example). We will then credit you your earnings. You can get your earnings via paypal or bank transfer.
How much do I earn when selling on KidsGrow?

You keep 90% of the earnings! KidsGrow will deduct 10% from the selling price of your item after it sold.

By comparison most baby consignment stores usually keep 50 to 60% of the total, leaving you with peanuts!

You can elect at any time to cash-in your earnings. Simple request to withdraw your earnings in your account. At this time we offer cash-in payment via Paypal or bank transfer.
How do I adjust the price of my item?
Why do you need actual pictures of my item?

We hear you, the pictures you can find on the net are so much nicer… but we stand by transparency. A good listing is a listing that fairly describes and pictures the item and its condition.

Trust us when we say this: your item will sell faster when being transparent than if you omit some pictures or information. Plus that will save you some headache answering potential buyer questions.

Now, we didn’t say having nice pictures wasn’t important. Here are a few tips to ensure your pictures help sell your item:
1. Natural light is key.
2. Find the right angle. Your camera should be horizontally aligned with the item you are trying to photograph.
3. Try and use a solid background in a contrasting color (ex: a white cradle should be on a solid dark background, but a black stroller will look better on a white background).
4. Try and submit square pictures… they look better on our site! 🙂
The buyer is returning my item, so now what?

Now, if you omitted flaws – for example a missing accessory, a stain, a chip of the paint, etc – KidsGrow will not be able to cover you. Your sale will be canceled and you will be responsible to pay to get your item shipped back to you. Let’s say it one more time: transparency is key!
